Cycles of completion sustain our motivation
Never-ending projects that continue to expand in scope effectively kill motivation. Without a finish line or a clearly defined milestone in sight, our vision gets blurry, and our drive to make progress diminishes.
We know that’s true. Anyone who reflects honestly on their creative work knows that’s true. Consequently, we need to have the discipline to follow a rhythm of closing the old before opening the new.
In fact, shipping something that has been built with care and love within a reasonable timeframe feels rewarding, and it strengthens the bonds between the people who made it happen.
